It is a Valentines Day, Facial Friday! Also, the night of the Snow Moon! My sweet husband agreed to try this mask with me. It is simple to make. I do not have much more to say but, I do have a take away for this specific mask. It will be posted towards the end of this post.
This mask is loaded with antioxidants from the cocoa, cacao, and strawberries. The milk contains lactic acid. I have added the clay for a slight cleansing and absorption.
Chocolate Dipped Strawberry Mask
1 Tablespoon freeze dried strawberries blended to a powder
4-6 tablespoons milk
1 Tablespoon cocoa powder
1 Tablespoon Raw cacao powder
1/2 Tablespoon Rhassoul Clay
Take all of the ingredients and whiz it up in the blender. Mine turned into the consistency of a pudding. I used whole strawberries but I am suggesting organic freeze dried strawberries. If I remake this one I will post an update on my Instagram.
Apply the mask and wear for 5 – 10 minutes. Rinse off well with warm water.
As the mask dried it did give me a stinging quality. I am not sure if it was how I blended up the mask or, if the strawberries were different from the last mask I made and they were more acidic or, if it was a super tightening sensation. My husband experienced the same. But after a few minutes the red disappeared and we felt our skin was so soft.
When using homemade skincare, you have to be careful with the ingredients used and the effects they may have. These are ingredients I have used multiple times before but it is still important to choose quality ingredients. For this mask I would again, suggest trying organic freeze dried strawberries. My skin has now calmed down and cleared up since then, and my skin is super soft. My suggestion is to always use quality and organic as much as possible. Always patch test your skin.
