This DIY Tumeric Exfoliation Facial Yogurt Mask has three ingredients! Simple, homemade, and natural is my kind of product.
Yogurt contains lactic acid which is a natural, mild exfoliant. If you researched a chemical exfoliant or peels, lactic acid is one of the chemical exfoliants used. It is beneficial in reducing acne breakouts and the appearance of wrinkles. This is a mild test for sensitive skins, like me.
Tumeric is one of my staple spices for skincare and for cooking. This wonder spice has so many amazing benefits. It has potent anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. Added to mask it has skin brightening qualities.
Sugar contains natural alpha hydroxy acids knows as glycolic acid. Glycolic acids have been specifically proven to break down dead skin cells and slough off the outer layer, revealing fresh new skin. For a less jagged version, castor is usually recommended. I tried raw cane sugar for this mask.
1 Tablespoon Greek Yogurt
1 Tablespoon Tumeric
1 Tablespoon Raw Cane Sugar
Mix together and stored in an airtight container.
I stored my DIY Tumeric Exfoliation Facial Mask in the refrigerator after making for a couple of hours. By the time I used the mask the sugar dissolved. It had a slight grainy texture from the turmeric. I left it on for about 10 minutes and then rinsed off. All of the rough skin I had peeled and rolled away. I say this mask was a success!
