Hot Cocoa Mask Facial Friday #13

It is very cold and snowy and I love the snow, except when I have to drive in it.  Currently the temperature outside reads 15 degrees Fahrenheit.  The only thing I want when it is this snowy and cold is a hot chocolate.  This Facial Friday is simply a chocolate mask I made while making myself some hot chocolate.  There are some things I added that I would leave out so I will list those as optional.  I went a little overboard taking a photo of the finished product.  Yes, that is a cookie shoved into this skincare product.

The ingredients used will be described in my short memory notes and what benefits they have on the skin.

Organic cocoa powder – antioxidants

raw can sugar – exfoliation

redmond clay – absorb oil and toxins

greek yogurt – moisture

cinnamon – circulation

Hot Cocoa Mask

Ingredients

2 Tablespoons Organic Cocoa Powder

1 Tablespoon raw can sugar (Optional)

1 Tablespoon redmond clay (Optional)

1 single serve container greek yogurt

1/4 teaspoon cinnamon (Optional)

Mix all of the ingredients in a larger bowl.  It will take some time to work in the powders.  You can almost just mix all of the dry ingredients to store them and then mix a 1 teaspoon of the powder to whatever liquid you want to use.  I did not do that and started with what is pictured and quickly realized how thick the mask would turn out to be.  I had to use my hands to apply this mask to my face and I wore it for less than 10 minutes.  If parts of the mask dry down, similar to what my mask did, I would use a warm wash cloth to rub the mask off or away from the skin.

Frankly this has not been my favorite mask and I will be revisiting it in the future to tweak and make it lovable to my standards.  Although this one was fun and festive I will not recreate it in this style.  Don’t get me wrong, because if you like tightening clay mask then this one is a good choice to make for yourself.  Personally, due to the weather and extreme cold temperatures this was very drying on my skin. My face feels soft and after a good moisturizer slather I am not feeling the symptoms of over drying my face.

This weather also makes me super sleepy!  Exactly how I am in this picture, falling asleep while trying to sip on this hot chocolate.  Overall this was a quick experimental mask/post.  My skin feels soft and I am to tired to notice any other changes I benefitted from using the mask.  I am ready to tuck in for the night and sleep in because it is the weekend!
