Velvet Report – Vegan Makeup Starter Kit Review

This is my first set of makeup I purchased that is verified vegan.  Lindsey has done the leg work and we just love her for that!  She has curated a makeup box including some pretty awesome vegan makeup.  The great thing about this set is you can customize it to what works for you. This box contains all vegan, and natural with 4 full-size luxury products. $117 value and this box is $75!  For an additional $24 you can also snag her Rose beauty box which I have purchased and reviewed before.  This deal is amazing for some pretty luxe products.

Here are my selections from the vegan makeup starter kit below.

Axiology Lipstick in Noble is a peachy pink coral shade.  Axiology is a vegan, cruelty-free, and all natural lipstick that is a luxurious treat for your lips.  This lipstick is so smooth and moisturizing.  I love this color so much on me, if you have medium skin tone with hints of golden this looks beautiful.  Axiology lipstick comes in a chic gold tube with a very unique feature.  The tube clicks in and out of the cover. I will have to do a quick video snippet of what I mean on Instagram.  There is another option of lipstick for a burgundy wine shade of lipstick called Elusive, which would be the perfect shade for the upcoming fall and winter seasons.

Here is a lovely nostril shot along with my unsugared upper lip, haha! But on a serious note, this color is just gorgeous!

Antonym Eyeshadow Palettes are certified organic with a soft, velvety finish.  There are four colors in each palette offering a variety of eye looks you can create.  I choose the Noisette palette for all the nude shades.  These eyeshadows are milled so perfectly fine the texture is just beautiful and blends so well.  I was very surprised by them and how great of a quality they are.  The packaging is in bamboo, which I adore!  Some of the eyeshadows are loose and fall out but I am a little glad there is not some industrial glue holding this thing together that is possibly seeping into my product I put on my skin.  Stuff like that freaks me out sometimes.  The other palette is Croisette which has a black and pink shade in stead of the gold and matte brown.

My hands are still a little inflamed from food allergies I was experiencing that I will talk about later.  But here is my chubby with some swatches.  These are seriously such good quality!

There remaining two products are what you would get regardless of what option you choose from the products above.

Lily Lolo Mascara in Black is vegan, clean, and provides a dramatic (yet natural) effect.  I liked this mascara better than the Tarte mascara I was using.  I do always have the same issues with mascaras, my lashes are so straight that I have to curl before mascara and this unfortunately had the same effect as the others, it won’t hold the curl but I am used to it.  I did later find if I did a few more coats it held up pretty well.  If you apply to many coats this one can look pretty clumpy very easily.

Gressa Lumière Luminous Complexion Fluid in color Elise is what I though to be an illuminator but to my surprise this product provides nourishment and luminosity to cheeks, eyelids or lips in a bright pink color.  I am used to using creme blushes and so I did attempt this as a blush but will need a little more practice.

The swatch on the left is of the Gressa product.  I will play around with this more and figure out the best way to use it. The texture reminds me of a slightly sticky gloss.  This would give that perfect dewy fresh skin look, which I have been trying to perfect for myself.

This last product was a bonus product, Lindsey is so kind to me and included this one.  It is vegan as well and I am so grateful to have received it with my order.  It is a really good quality polish that last for longer than I expected.  I am not a huge nail polish wearer but still liked this one very much.  The formula is a bit runny, it sort of reminded me of and Essie polish.

Velvet Report Book Box is the last item and I include this because they are her signature cute pink boxes that store beautifully.  You can stack them up like a book on a book shelf which could house your necessities if needed in an area where you would have books.

If you are looking for a good vegan make up starter, this box is perfect.  It has all the essentials to make any fresh faced beauty.
